Who we will meet, what we will see and even what will happen moment by moment is a mystery that we can only uncover as it is happening.
Although we know that it is a mystery, most of us live as if we are in control. Why is this?
I have just begun reading a daily devotional book each morning and this morning it was titled, "Life is a story". What a great way to describe our lives...
Each day, new people come in and out of our lives, things change and we make decisions that will impact our lives forever, no matter how big or small.
Each morning when we wake up, we have a whole new day ahead of us. A day to change what we did wrong the day before, talk to someone we may not have taken the time to talk to, take the time to help someone, and most importantly take the time to try to do something nice for someone, that may make a bigger impact or change than we think.
Although we have no control over who we come into contact with or what happens throughout our day, we do have control over how we choose to handle the situations that are thrown at us. Always remembering to handle these situations with patience, compassion, faith and love are what will get us to the next day and help us make our "story" an amazing one.
Things will happen to us that are hard to understand, explain or accept, but that is only because we only know what is happening to us now. If we only had faith in our own "stories" and how they end, we would know that it is all a plan... And that plan is a great one.

January 5, 2011
